Parenthood isn’t easy, but it doesn’t have to be this hard.

Kirsten Jensen is a family therapist in Seattle, providing therapy sessions for parents desiring happy families across the state of Washington.

Specializing in supporting families with children ages 2-9, I help parents use connection rather than control to create the relationship they want with their kids.

You are not a failure as a parent.

But you often feel that way, and you’re fed up.

You’re hurting because you’re constantly reminded you don’t have the relationship you thought you would have with your kids. It’s hard for your family to function - the kids refuse to eat at the table, they don’t want to go out and do activities with the family, the sibling rivalry is non-stop. You’ve already tried the tools you know and the strategies you learned in a class or from a book haven’t worked. You and your partner may not be on the same page, regarding parenting, either.

It’s time for professional support from a family therapist and a fellow parent who’s been there and found a positive, impactful way forward. I’m here to help parents in Seattle and across Washington strengthen connections with your young children.

I'm Kirsten – you can call me KJ – and as a family therapist, I help parents in the Seattle area use connection rather than control to create the relationship they want with their kids.

Becoming a parent can be a wonderful and fulfilling experience. And, let's face it, parenting can also be stressful.

The constant demands on your time and attention can leave you feeling overwhelmed and exhausted.

As a family therapist, parenting instructor, and a parent myself, I want to help you manage the stress that can sap family closeness. If you are struggling with family communication, I would love to help your family connect in a warm and genuine way.

Let's work together to build the family life you want.

Therapy sessions solely for the parents.

Because you’re the change-makers, the culture-creators, and the leaders. You’re the foundation your family is built on – let’s make sure it’s strong, supportive, and secure.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Is managing childcare, school, and work dynamics stressing you out? Does your family dynamic push your buttons, leaving you feeling angry, sad, or exhausted as a parent?

Through individual therapy sessions, I will support you in developing a greater awareness of yourself, your way of relating, and your coping skills in the face of anxiety. Our sessions are a time to focus on YOU.

“I'm so grateful for the support I received from KJ during my early years of motherhood. I worked with her when my daughter was in day care and pre-school. The parenting ‘tools’ I learned were and continue to be extremely valuable. My daughter is now 13 and we have a strong bond. I believe this bond is in large part due to the support, encouragement and practical tools that I received from KJ. If you are a parent in need of support, I highly recommend that you reach out!”
